Royal wedding will have just traditional hymns, no Elton John, James Blunt

London, Mar 16 (ANI): Despite rumours that either Elton John or James Blunt could be performing at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding, the two have announced that they will have just traditional hymns.

During the ceremony the choirs of Westminster Abbey and the Chapel Royal will be singing, and there will not be any performance by a pop star or opera singer.

St James’ Palace announced that along with the choirs, a Fanfare Team, a group of trumpeters, from both the RAF band and the Household Cavalry will play, as well as the London Chamber Orchestra, which is Britain’s oldest professional orchestra.

“Both Prince William and Miss Middleton have taken a great deal of interest and care in choosing the music for their service, which will include a number of well-known hymns and choral works as well as some specially commissioned pieces,” the Telegraph quoted the Palace as saying in a statement.

“You won’t see any individual performers at the service,” a Palace insider said.

It is not yet known the choice of hymns or music, but Palace insiders have suggested the hymns would be well known ones that all of the congregation could sing along to.

Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, who in an interview said the music would have a “Scottish feel”, will compose some of the music.

“I think wedding music should reflect what matters to the couple and in William and Catherine’s case, Scotland is very much part of their love story,” he had said shortly after their engagement announcement last November.

The palace said that after the service, guests at the Buckingham Palace reception will listen to music played by Claire Jones, Prince Charles’ official harpist. (ANI)

Queen offers to share Buckingham Palace with Wills

London, Jan 15 (ANI): The Queen has invited Prince William and Kate Middleton to live with her at Buckingham Palace after their wedding.

Her Majesty has offered to share the palace with the couple so that they could have a secure and private place as they start out as husband and wife.

If they accept the offer, the newlyweds will get a large self-contained pad within the landmark building.

However, sources say that the pair are likely to opt for a suite in the less formal surrounds of nearby St James’s Palace.

Prince Charles has agreed to let the pair renovate one of the apartments at the rambling complex if they choose it as their London base.

Wills currently shares a flat there with Prince Harry.

“Buckingham Palace is an option, not least because it has a lot of spare space, and it’s obviously safe from a security point of view,” the Sun quoted a senior royal source as saying.

However, William is determined to make life as ‘normal’ as possible after the wedding, which makes an apartment at St James’s Palace a more likely choice. (ANI)

Wills-Kat to move in with Prince Harry after royal wedding

London, April 7 (ANI): It has emerged that Prince William and Kate Middleton will share a home with Prince Harry after their marriage.

Following their honeymoon, the newlyweds will share a suite at Clarence House with Harry because they have yet to decide where they want to live, reports the Daily Mail.

Buckingham Palace, St James’s Palace and Kensington Palace are all being considered as their London base, and they will continue to spend much of their time in North Wales, where William is based with the RAF.

But when in London they will continue to use the suite of rooms that William shares with Harry at Clarence House and attempt to keep out of each other’s way when Harry is in town.

“Harry is away with the Army Air Corps most of the week, so it shouldn’t be too much of a problem co-ordinating their diaries,” said a source.

“The rooms aren’t particularly fancy but Catherine is used to them. She gets on brilliantly with Harry so it won’t be too much of a hardship shacking up with him for a while,” the source added. (ANI)

Prince Harry asks for Chelsy Davys hand in marriage?

London, April 6 (ANI): Prince Harry has sparked speculation that he is willing to marry girlfriend Chelsy Davy, by having an intense discussion with the latters parents.

The young British royal was spotted having a heart-to-heart with multi-millionaire Charles Davy and his wife Beverley over breakfast in a five-star Cape Town hotel.

And friends of the couple in South Africa are convinced that Harry was asking for Chelsys hand in marriage.

It was a pretty intense conversation. He obviously had a serious issue to discuss with them, the Daily Star quoted a friend, as saying.

Harry is a traditional guy. Hed want to do things properly and ask for her fathers permission, the friend added.

The 23-year-old prince is now back from his trip to South Africa to visit 22-year-old Chelsys family, whom he joined after a blissful break with Chelsy spent drifting down a river in Botswana.

The family friends believe that Charles and Beverley would want to make sure that Harry is serious about having a long term future with their daughter.

Hes a lovely young man but he sometimes fails to follow things through. Chelsys parents know he loves her but want to make sure that hell stick with her, a family friend said. (ANI)

So, Chelsy, you're really missing Harry then: Prince's ex parties away surrounded by admirers

Surrounded by male admirers as she parties at a music festival, Chelsy Davy clearly doesn’t need a prince around to have fun.

Miss Davy, wearing a daringly short fuchsia dress, began drinking from plastic jugs of what appeared to be punch at 9pm – and continued to dance, drink and smoke for seven hours.

In what may be a blow to her sometime boyfriend Prince Harry, several male friends were said to be ‘very protective’ of her, putting their arms around her shoulders.

A week earlier, Chelsy had accepted a £1,000 diamond and gold bracelet as a Christmas gift from Harry, 26.

Sources said he was hoping for reconciliation after the pair split late last year following 25-year-old Chelsy’s decision to return to her family in Africa rather than training to be a solicitor in London.

But her carefree abandon at a New Year music festival in Zimbabwe will signal she is not willing to give up the freedom of life in Africa in return for a constrained existence at the centre of the Royal Family.

While Harry spent Christmas with the Queen at Sandringham, Norfolk, his ex went to the paradise island of Mauritius before flying to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe for the Falls Fest on December 30.
She finally left the event looking worse for wear with a group of friends at 4am.

A fellow partygoer said: ‘It was a wild party. Beer wasn’t doing the job so Chelsy and her friends switched to punch. She got at least three jugs, and smoked like a chimney.’

Harry and Chelsy ended their six-year relationship after she complained of being homesick and hating British weather.

Prince Harry and Kate rehearse for royal wedding

LONDON — Keen to make sure her wedding to Prince William passes off smoothly, Kate Middleton took part in a rehearsal on Friday with her maid of honour and the best man, Prince Harry, at Westminster Abbey.

Kate, William's younger brother Harry and her younger sister Pippa were joined by the young bridesmaids and page boys who will accompany the bride down the aisle on April 29, to ensure they know what to do on the big day.

William himself could not take part because he was working at the Royal Air Force base on Anglesey where he is a search and rescue pilot.

"This was one of many rehearsals that will take place and is not the first," the prince's spokesman said.

The abbey was closed to tourists for the rehearsal, which was reportedly aimed at ensuring that Kate's young entourage -- the youngest bridesmaid is just three years old -- are not too overwhelmed by the grandeur of the place.

Palace officials released a detailed timetable of the wedding Friday, and confirmed that Kate will spend her last night as a single woman with her family at the Goring Hotel, not far from Buckingham Palace.

Girl Next Door: Stripes for Spring and Summer

We have enough things in this world to be afraid of; terrorism, robbery, the relaunch of Linsdsey Lohan’s career. Who needs more things to worry about? Almost every season, there is one colour, pattern or print that makes us all gasp in fear and vow never to wear. For a lot of people, that print is stripes. But today I am going to show you that stripes really aren’t so scary.

Stripes are a frequently-occuring pattern every season, but this year they were more populr than ever. Moschino went for the 70s vibe with wide-legged trousers paired with red-and-white-striped tops, whereas Prada went all out in big, bold clashing wonderfulness, with orange, red and blue stripes competing against each other.

Wearing stripes can be as sublte or as bold as you want it to be, but stripes instantly add a freshness and fun to any wardrobe, whether it’s a striped top and cropped trousers a la Coco Chanel, or full-on nautical stripes in navy and white. Here are my top tips for wearing stripes.

Be aware of proportionsWhile research has showed that it isn’t true that horizontal stripes make you look wider, there is some advice on body shape and stripes. Petites should stick to narrower stripes whereas bigger girls can try large stripes. Darker vertical stripes are most flattering on curvier girls.
The wider the stripe, the bolder the statementSkinny pinstripes are perfect for the office, but save bold striped dresses for a night on the town.
Play it safe by mixing with neutralsBlack and white stripes are classic and look great with white trousers or a black skirt. This is an easy way to add stripes to your wardrobe without being too daring. Don’t be afraid of bright stripes though, but pair with greys, blacks and whites to keep the look fresh and co-ordinated.
Play with mixing printsStripes are a great base for mixing prints- they look great with florals, checks and polka dots- all big trends this season too!
