NBA Finals Schedule 2011: Heat, Mavericks Get Four More Days To Recover

The 2011 NBA Finals schedule is set, but the championship series between the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks won't begin until Tuesday, May 31. That gives both teams a full four-day break before action begins. The Mavericks earned a berth to the Finals on Wednesday night at home with a Western Conference Finals victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder; they found out their Finals opponent Thursday as the Heat eliminated the Chicago Bulls at the United Center.

The Mavericks are older, and could theoretically use the rest. But the Heat's stars have played huge minutes of late -- LeBron James averaged 45 minutes per game in the Eastern Conference Finals, Chris Bosh averaged more than 31 and Dwyane Wade averaged nearly 40.

Here's the Finals schedule. All times are Eastern. All games are on ABC in the United States and TSN in Canada.

Game 1: Tue., May 31 in Miami, 9 p.m.
Game 2: Thu., June 2 in Miami, 9 p.m.
Game 3: Sun., June 5 in Dallas, 8 p.m.
Game 4: Tue., June 7 in Dallas, 9 p.m.
Game 5: Thu., June 9 in Dallas, 9 p.m.
Game 6: Sun., June 12 in Miami, 8 p.m.
Game 7: Tue., June 14 in Miami, 9 p.m.

NBA Finals Schedule 2011: Heat Vs. Mavericks Tips Off Tuesday

The 2011 NBA Finals schedule is now set, thanks to the Miami Heat's Game 5 win over the Chicago Bulls on Thursday. The victory launched Miami to a 4-1 win in the Eastern Conference Finals. On Wednesday, the Dallas Mavericks knocked off the Oklahoma City Thunder at home to give the Mavs a 4-1 series victory in the Western Conference Finals.

The quick work by the Heat and Mavericks means the NBA Finals schedule moves up a bit. Originally slated to begin on June 2, the NBA moved up the Finals series' Game 1 to Tuesday, May 31. That still gives the league a full four days off in between series.

Here's the full schedule for the Finals. All times are Easter, and all games will be broadcast on ABC in the United States and TSN in Canada.

Game 1: Tue., May 31 in Miami, 9 p.m.
Game 2: Thu., June 2 in Miami, 9 p.m.
Game 3: Sun., June 5 in Dallas, 8 p.m.
Game 4: Tue., June 7 in Dallas, 9 p.m.
Game 5: Thu., June 9 in Dallas, 9 p.m.
