Stephanie Bon fired for sarcastic Facebook post on Lloyds TSB CEO's £4000-an-hour salary

A BANK worker has been sacked for writing sarcastic comments on Facebook about her boss's multi-million pound salary.

Stephanie Bon, 37, a human resources assistant at Lloyds Banking Group in the UK, was incensed when she found out that the new chief executive, António Horta-Osório, was being paid up to £13.5 million ($21 million) a year.

She wrote on her Facebook wall: "LBG's new CEO gets £4000 an hour. I get £7. That's fair."

When the bank found out what she had written, she was fired and escorted from her office.

"If I have got an opinion, I write it because I don't expect my friends to grass me up."

Despite arguing she had done nothing wrong and revealed nothing confidential, the bank expressed disappointment in her behaviour and terminated her employment.

Lloyds TSB, which needed bailing out by the British Government after the financial meltdown nearly crippled the UK's banks, offered Mr Horta-Osório the huge salary to poach him from Spanish bank
