GEICO Brands Talladega Track Campgrounds

GEICO will be unveiling its new event footprint for camping race fans at the Talladega Superspeedway this weekend. The insurance company recently signed a five-year sponsorship deal that will rebrand camping areas at seven International Speedway Corp. (ISC) race tracks with its widely popular and iconic Caveman and Gecko personalities.

On April 16-17, Talladega Superspeedway will be the first NASCAR event with the GEICO branded campsites, according to a news release. The interactive infield display will feature free Wi-Fi with access for up to 65 simultaneous users; bean bag toss tournaments; giveaways of premium items including American Express gift cards and photo opportunities with the Gecko. The GEICO Caveman Campgrounds will house tent campers and GEICO Park West, Gecko Shores at Lake Lloyd and recreational vehicles.

“NASCAR fans are some of the most passionate fans in all of sports,” said Tom McNicholas, manager of GEICO’s RV unit. “They travel far distances with their campers and turn trips to the races into weekend-long excursions, camping at the race track. This partnership gives us ample opportunity to build GEICO brand awareness within the vast NASCAR community.”

GEICO (Government Employees Insurance Company) is a member of the Berkshire Hathaway Inc. family of companies and is the third-largest private passenger auto insurer in the United States. GEICO handles auto insurance coverage for 10 million private passenger auto policies and insures more than 16 million vehicles.

In addition to auto insurance, GEICO offers customers insurance products for their motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), and recreational vehicles. Coverage for life, boats, homes and apartments is available through the GEICO Insurance Agency. Commercial auto insurance and personal umbrella protection are also available.
