Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton charm at the ACM Awards 2011
Okay, we get it, you're getting married and you're going to be the most countrified couple since Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.
Blake Shelton must really, really love his bride-to-be Miranda Lambert, because he dropped her name approximately seven million times while hosting the Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday night in Las Vegas. Even his and co-host Reba McEntire's opening skit was a "rehearsal" for the big wedding night. It was cute. Really. Sort of.
Lambert took home Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, and Video of the Year, beating out her total wins from last year's event.
Shelton introduced her performance of "A Heart Like Mine," saying that in a few months, they'd begin their new life as husband and wife... and end their lives as wedding planners. The audience laughed as he pulled a stack of cash out of his pocket and chucked the bills in her general direction as the performance began.
Lambert's lyrics, "I ain't the kind you take home to mama, I ain't the kind to wear no ring," were especially tongue-in-cheek tonight. Because in case you didn't know, they're getting married.
